Dutch indie game studio Paladin Studios have just launched their new game Momonga Pinball Adventures.

Momonga is a pinball game with a twist. You play through different levels with a storyline. The hero of the game is Momo, a little flying squirrel whose village was raided by owl bandits. With the help of a panda and a firefly, you need to find your tribe and free them.

The game is now available on the App Store as a Universal app.

Making you smile

This is surely the first pinball game that features the likes of a flying squirrel, a nomadic panda, samurai owls, and a kung fu firefly. This actually suits the studio’s mission, which is “to make you smile, be it a sweet twinkle, loud laugh, or evil grin”.

Another thing that will make you smile is that there are no sneaky in-app purchases. The Paladin website says “Buy it and it’s yours” - which is a refreshingly old-fashioned approach to games on the App Store.

Episode 1 of the game contains 9 levels and one bonus level. Each level has 5 “Challenges” - mini quests that give you a medal and boost your score. There are numerous Game Center achievements, and each level has its own leaderboard.

According to Paladin Studios, two more bonus levels are planned for episode 1. Episode 2 will be a bigger update. The same goes for an Android version - it is in the works, but will require a bit more waiting.

Available now

The game is available now on the App Store as a Universal app. Compatible devices are iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad mini, and iPod touch 5th gen.

Right now you can get it for $0.99. The regular price is $2.99.
